Welcome to the Family!
We want to congratulate you on your decision to follow Jesus Christ. “There is rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner whose heart is changed,” Luke 15:10. Right now, we are rejoicing with God and the angels over your commitment to follow Jesus and make Him the Lord of your life.
Whether this is the first time you have ever prayed that prayer of salvation, or it was a prayer to re-dedicate your life to Him, this is a day of new beginnings for you. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life],” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP).
You will never be the same and God is with you to lead you and guide you, each and every day. He has given you His Word, to show you how to live in His peace, joy, and freedom. Get into His Word every day. A great place to start is with the Gospel of John. Begin reading a chapter a day and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you as you read. If you don’t have a Bible, let a us know and we would be delighted to give you one.
God has also given you a family. When we are born again, the Bible says that we are like newborn babies who need others to help us to grow up and become strong and mature in our faith. We all start out in the faith like this, and we never outgrow the need for a church family to stand with us, pray for us, encourage us and help us to grow. You don’t have to live life alone; God has given you a church family to help you and stand with you. So please get connected in a group. You will be so glad you did.
Get ready for wonderful things ahead. Jesus came to forgive you, remove your sin, guilt and shame, and bring refreshing to your soul. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” Acts 3:19.
Sincerely,
