God Our Faithful Rock: Deuteronomy 32:1-6

God Our Faithful Rock: Deuteronomy 32:1-6
By: Todd Hudnall1 “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak;
And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2 Let my teaching drop as the rain,
My speech distill as the dew,
As raindrops on the tender herb,
And as showers on the grass.
3 For I proclaim the name of the Lord:
Ascribe greatness to our God.
The appeal to heaven and earth speaks of the significance of this passage.
4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He.
The LORD is stable (the rock) and faithful to always do what is just and right.
5 “They have corrupted themselves;
They are not His children,
Because of their blemish:
A perverse and crooked generation.
6 Do you thus deal with the Lord,
O foolish and unwise people?
Is He not your Father, who bought you?
Has He not made you and established you?
At this time, God’s people bare no family resemblance to their Father. Many times we have been the same way. Yet, we are God’s by redemptions (who bought you) and by creation (He made you). We have all failed but God is always faithful and just to redeem and restore His people when they turn to Him (1 John 1; 2 Chron. 7:14).
