Mind Renewal - Romans 12:1-2

We are now entering the fifth week of the Break Free campaign.

Rom. 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

God wants us to present our bodies to Him as holy and acceptable sacrifices. After all God has done for us and for the fact that He has our very best in mind, it is the only reasonable thing to do. We do this by letting go of our own rights and surrendering our lives to Christ.

Rom. 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We aren't to allow the world to push us into its mold but instead allow God to transforms us into His image. We do that by renewing our mind to God’s truth. Christianity requires deep thinking and processing of truth. God’s Word must shape our worldview and our decision-making. This requires having a regular input of God’s Word, meditating on it and acting on it.
