Stay Hungry My Friend - Proverbs 27:7
By: Todd Hudnall
Prov. 27:7 A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
If your stomach is full, even the best food doesn’t sound very appetizing. Too many followers of Jesus fill themselves up on television, movies, video games, Internet surfing or any number of other soul satiating activities, only to discover they have no hunger left for the things of God.
Though some would consider the Bible bitter when it contradicts them, those of us who are endeavoring to live out God’s Word know it isn’t bitter but is sweetness to our souls (Prov. 16:24). Yet, we have to make room for it in our lives. Over the past four weeks, many of us have been limiting those things that rob our passion for God and keep us satisfied. Instead we have spent that time in God’s Word and prayer. I’ve heard testimonies of the difference that has made for individuals and families. I want to encourage you to continue that practice as we move into the life-transforming Break Free Campaign.
This weekend we have Break Free study guides available and will be announcing the groups you can be a part of. Over the next three months God is going to remove those things that have limited us and take us to a new place of freedom and into a greater relationship with Him. We’ll never be the same!
For those away from Colorado Springs, this weekend we begin streaming of our services at 11am and 6pm on Sundays. You can also catch the service the following week, as each service video is archived and uploaded as podcasts. Beginning next week Break Free Study Guides can be ordered online at Amazon.com.
Matt. 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
